New York thru a TS Lens

A TS(Tilt Shift) lens is a specially devised lens that can express the extremely shallow depth of a focus by reflecting light up and down, left and right inside the lens itself. It differs from a normal lens controlling the depth by using an aperture. The TS lens depth is too shallow so the focused area is very narrow. The scene you see through a TS lens makes you feel like you’re taking a very close look at miniatures. The video above is New York shot with a TS lens.

TS(Tilt Shift)렌즈는 빛을 상하좌우로 반사함으로써 매우 얕은 심도를 표현할 수 있도록 고안된 렌즈이다. 일반 카메라 렌즈는 조리개를 이용해 심도를 조절한다는 점에서 다르다. 심도가 상당히 얕기 때문에 초점이 맞는 영역이 좁아 먼 거리의 풍경도 마치 미니어쳐를 가까이서 찍은것 같은 느낌이 난다. 위의 영상은 TS 렌즈로 뉴욕의 모습을 찍은 것이다.
